President Donald Trump said Monday that efforts to rid the United States of the violent MS-13 gang have been productive.
Trump gave a White House speech in front of officials, officers, and agents from the immigration law enforcement community and touched on the gang that has terrorized certain parts of the U.S. in recent years.
"ICE's operation Matador recently led to the arrest of 325 members of MS-13, a vicious, violent, horrible gang, horrible group of people," Trump said, referencing a recent MS-13 crackdown in New York.
"We're throwing them the hell out of our country so fast your head would spin. Too many were allowed in."
Trump frequently references MS-13 when he talks about illegal immigration and the violence it can lead to. In June, he said federal law enforcement was "liberating towns" from the gang made up of primarily Central Americans. He used the same line during Monday's remarks.
Law enforcement officials "are doing an incredible job," Trump said. "They are liberating towns."
