Congressional investigators remain unsuccessful in their months-long efforts to find and talk to a Belarusan-American businessman who might be a key figure in Russian election interference efforts, ABC News reports.
Sergei Millian hasn't always been hard to find; he gave an interview to ABC News in July 2016 and he purportedly attended parties connected to the inauguration of President Donald Trump, ABC reported.
He also worked for the Russian American Chamber of Commerce in New York City.
But now, investigators can't find Millian, who befriended members of Trump's campaign and was deemed "someone who was important" related to the unverified Trump dossier authored by a British spy.
Early on, reports fingered Millian as one of the actual sources of Christopher Steele.
Harvard University debunked this tweet from Millian, telling ABC that he hasn't been at the university since a 2013 conference.
Millian struck up a friendship with George Papadopoulos, who has since pleaded guilty for lying to the FBI regarding the campaign, ABC News reports.
