President Donald Trump Thursday slammed an extensive continuing resolution passed by the Senate earlier this week, calling it “ridiculous” and demanding to know where the money for border security will come from.
“I want to know, where is the money for Border Security and the WALL in this ridiculous Spending Bill, and where will it come from after the Midterms?” Trump said in the tweet. “Dems are obstructing Law Enforcement and Border Security. REPUBLICANS MUST FINALLY GET TOUGH!”
The tweet followed an appearance on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” by Sen. David Perdue, who told the program he voted against the “ridiculous” continuing resolution mainly because it doesn’t “fund the president‘s priorities.”
“It’s ridiculous for two reasons,” said the Georgia Republican. “It’s irresponsible to kick the can down the road past the fiscal year. Second, and the most important reason, is it doesn’t fund the president’s priorities.
"He was elected, very clearly, to grow the economy, rebalance our court system, and to secure border security. Right now, we have a historic level of Democrat obstruction."
Trump is “fed up” with the lack of border funding, said Perdue, “and so am I.”
Trump also quoted Perdue in a pair of tweets, after the senator said, “’We can’t secure the Border because of the Democrats historic level of Obstruction. The Presidents fed up with this. His agenda is working. The economy is growing at twice the rate it did under Obama. We’ve nominated and confirmed 68 Federal Judges, 26 Court of Appeals Judges.'”
“’The thing that’s lacking is we can’t properly secure the Border because of the Democrats historic level of Obstruction,’” Trump also quoted Perdue as saying.
