President Donald Trump on Monday responded to Rep. Maxine Waters, warning the California Democrat she should "be careful what you wish for" in encouraging harassment of White House and administration officials.
Trump was responding to Waters' statement Sunday that Americans should "absolutely harass" any White House official.
It also comes a day after Sarah Sanders was asked to leave a Virginia restaurant simply for her role as White House press secretary.
Waters' remarks were such anathema to civility and common courtesy that even House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told her to can it.
Department of Homeland Security chief Kirstjen Nielsen last week was accosted by protesters while dining at a restaurant.
