Former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway has cautioned that more "hidden" supporters for President Donald Trump will propel him to a victory in November.
“As the person who coined the term, ‘hidden undercover Trump voter in 2016,’ there are even more of them and they're even more committed now, and they're going to surprise you as to who they are this time,” Conway said during an interview from Showtime’s “The Circus.”
Conway referenced a survey released in July by the Cato Institute that reported 62% of Americans have political views they were scared to share. Most of those who feared sharing views were conservatives.
“But they express themselves at the ballot box,” Conway said, in reference to the poll.
The interview took place during the Republican National Convention, during the last days of her time at the White House. Conway announced she was leaving her post in the administration at the end of August to take care of her family.
Conway was asked whether she "personally" believes in Trump's ability to lead.
She responded, “I very much believe in America and I think America needs a leader for a time such as this.”
