President Donald Trump on Thursday renewed claims that "massive fraud" and crooked officials in battleground states led to his election defeat, and said he'll go to Georgia to rally supporters ahead of two Senate runoff elections.

"This has a long way to go," Trump said on Thanksgiving evening. "This election was a fraud. It was a rigged election."

Major media outlets have named Democrat Joe Biden the winner with 306 electoral votes, but Trump is challenging the results in multiple states, including Georgia.

Trump spoke to reporters at the White House after speaking with U.S. military leaders overseas.

After his conversation, Trump took questions for the first time since Election Day and angrily denounced officials in Georgia and Pennsylvania, two key swing states that helped give Biden the win.

State officials and international observers have repeatedly said no evidence of mass fraud exists and Trump's campaign has repeatedly failed in court.

Trump said he would hold a rally with thousands of supporters in Georgia to support a pair of Republican candidates — Sen. David Perdue and Sen. Kelly Loeffler — whose runoff elections on Jan. 5 will determine which party controls the Senate.

Trump initially said the rally would be Saturday. The White House later clarified he meant Dec. 5.

Trump will also be supporting Republican Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue in their reelection bids, calling them "great people."

"I will be in Georgia, we are going to have a tremendous crowd," Trump said. "They are looking for the right site. Probably we would love to take one of the big stadiums, but you can't because of the COVID, so we will have an outdoor form of probably an airport, most likely it's an airport."

Trump predicted "tens of thousands of people show up" and said he may make a second rally appearance, "depending on how they're doing."
