President Donald Trump touted a poll showing him with a 46 percent approval rating and said the actual number may exceed 50 percent.

Trump made his comment in a Tuesday tweet:

Trump was referring to a Rasmussen Reports daily presidential tracking poll released on Monday. The survey showed 46 percent of likely voters approve of his job performance, while 53 percent disapprove.
