President Donald Trump continued his assault on Amazon Tuesday morning with a tweet that took aim at the e-commerce giant and the purported losses the U.S. Postal Service is taking by delivering the company's packages.
This tweet appeared on Trump's feed shortly before 10 a.m.:
Trump trashed Amazon last summer and again in recent days. Some critics have accused Trump of harping on Amazon because the company is owned by Jeff Bezos, who owns The Washington Post — a paper with which Trump has feuded.
The Wall Street Journal editorial board argued this week that Trump's insistence that the USPS is losing billions of dollars because of Amazon is inaccurate.
Politifact also refuted Trump's claim, saying the post office's delivery of Amazon packages is likely breaking even — although the agency as a whole is in the red.
