A Democratic lawmaker Friday twitter-slapped President Donald Trump with a snarky "cheat sheet" of do's and don't's for his first overseas trip – including the advice: "Don't talk about a Muslim ban with the Saudis."
California Rep. Ted Lieu posted his "cheat sheet" hours before Trump took off for for Saudi Arabia on the first leg of his nine-day trip.
"Don't talk about a Muslim ban with the Saudis,” Lieu's Twitter post advised. "Actually, don’t talk about banning Muslims ever again."
During Trump's visit with Arab allies in Saudi Arabia over the weekend, he's expected to deliver a speech on Islam written by aide Stephen Miller, who helped create Trump's controversial travel ban, The Hill noted.
Lieu's sarcastic guidelines labeled Israel, which Trump will also visit, an "ally," and referred to Russia as "not ally," suggesting "Don't leak classified information" – a reference to a controversial Oval Office meeting with two Russian officials May 10.
And referring to a planned stop at the Vatican, Lieu recommended: "Heads up for the Pope Francis meeting: He knows climate change is real, hates your proposed wall and is not a fan of locker room talk."
He also advised Trump that G-7 "is not a golf reference," alluding to Trump's planned meetings with key NATO allies and leaders from the Group of 7 industrialized countries.
