Is Jeb Bush a secret pothead? Donald Trump is hinting he is.
On Monday, the billionaire developer released a cheeky video, referring to Bush's admission last week that he smoked marijuana 40 years ago.
"Jeb has been confused for forty years..." taunts the video, posted on
Instagram.
It then cuts to Bush at last week's second GOP presidential debate, at which he stated, "So 40 years ago I smoked marijuana."
That's followed by a message reading: "Are we sure it was only forty years ago?"
Trump's video also highlights the former Florida governor's controversial quip that immigrants who enter the United States illegally have committed an "act of love" as well as his gaffe that the term "anchor babies" refers to Asians.
Bush's campaign was not amused, with spokeswoman Allie Brandenburger ripping Trump for a recent radio interview in which he seemed to trip up on questions about terrorism.
"This coming from the candidate who can't remember the names of our biggest enemies around the world. Seems these attacks are running out of steam," Brandenburger said,
according to The Hill.
During the GOP debate on CNN, Bush followed up his confession to smoking dope in the 1970s, with a touch of humor.
"I'm sure that other people might have done it and might not want to say it in front of 25 million people. My mom's not happy that I just did," Bush said.
