Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, predicted Sunday that Joe Biden would get undecided voters to his side on Election Day, including in his home state, which President Donald Trump won by eight points in 2016.
In an interview on NBC News’ “Meet The Press,” Brown said Biden’s “pro-worker” stance will resonate in the state.
“We are winning it,” he asserted about Biden’s support in Ohio. “You talk to workers directly… and suburban voters are just off the charts… breaking to him.”
“Joe Biden is the most pro-worker candidate … in 30 years,” he added, saying he’ll “govern through the eyes of workers.”
“He is the dignity-of-work candidate,” Brown declared.
Brown also dismissed that voters would be turned off by Biden’s comments on fracking and the oil industry, whose federal subsidies Biden has said he’d eliminate.
“When there’s a fork in the road… every single time Donald Trump has sided with corporate interests,” Brown said.
According to Brown, Biden’s election mandate will be to address the COVID-19 crisis,
“The first big thing we do is a COVID package with infrastructure… opening schools safely.”
”It’s ending this pandemic and getting the economy back on track,” he said, charging: “Donald Trump doesn’t have a plan for a second term.”
