President Joe Biden predicted that he would win a second term when discussing the coronavirus relief bill with Democrat senators on Wednesday, Mediaite reported.
Biden also said that he expects to get backing from Republicans for the legislation.
During a brief photo-op while Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were meeting with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and 10 other Democrat senators in the Oval Office to talk about the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, the president told reporters it was great to be with old friends. He said, “This is their new home, for a while anyway. And with a little bit of luck, the grace of God, the goodwill of the neighbors, and the crick not rising, it’s going to be longer than just four years.”
In a bid for the good fortune of the Democrats to come true, Schumer responded by knocking twice on a wooden table that was in the room.
Biden commented on the coronavirus relief legislation as the press was being ushered out of the room, and a reporter asked if he expects to receive any backing from GOP members for the bill.
“Oh, we’ll get Republican support,” Biden replied, adding that “I think we’ll get some Republicans.”
