The ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee had strong words for Republican colleagues regarding their finding that collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign did not exist.
"Throughout the investigation, committee Republicans chose not to seriously investigate — or even see, when in plain sight — evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, instead adopting the role of defense counsel for key investigation witnesses," said Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., The Hill reported.
The GOP-led House Intelligence panel released its final report Friday, which said that while Russia tried to intervene in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, the Trump campaign did not directly work with the Russians to defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Schiff said the Trump administration's actions show that some sort of "wrongdoing" occurred during the campaign.
"The Trump campaign and administration's efforts to deny, conceal and, when discovered, misrepresent what took place in these interactions with the Russians is powerful evidence of a consciousness of wrongdoing," he said.
The Senate Intelligence and Judiciary Committees are conducting Russia investigations, while an official probe at the Department of Justice has been ongoing since last spring.

Schiff fired back with this response, which linked to a report on the Russia investigation released by Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee in March:
