Republican candidate for Senate Roy Moore has released a self-written poem in the latest message to his supporters, but still hasn't conceded the election to his Democratic opponent, which is due to be certified this week.

Moore recited his poem, the story of a young girl whose father died and the Christmas miracle that later occurs, in a Facebook video.

"A Christmas Poem written by Judge Roy Moore," reads the video's caption. "Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas!"

The former Alabama Chief Justice lost to Doug Jones, the first Alabama Democrat to win election to the Senate in more than 20 years, though he has yet to concede the race. He initially hoped that he would win enough military and provisional ballots to force a recount, but far too few ballots were received to influence the result.

Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill announced last week that the election would be certified this Thursday, Dec. 28, according to AL.com.
