Ron Paul Vows To Campaign Despite Romney Lead

Fiery GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul says it makes no difference whether Mitt Romney achieves the magical 1,144 delegates to secure the party’s nomination. Paul isn’t going anywhere, except maybe Tampa.

"You don't quit because you happen to be behind," Paul told CNBC as reported by USA Today. "You want to see how you can do. Who knows? Maybe somebody will stumble."

With some 697 delegates, Romney is poised to move even closer to securing the nomination after big wins anticipated in Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Delaware and Rhode Island on Tuesday.

Gingrich reportedly has 137 delegates compared to Paul’s 67 and neither candidate is expected to best Romney in any of the Tuesday contests.

Paul told CNBC that Romney is “part of that whole crowd of politicians, Republicans and Democrats, that are much closer together than most people realize,” according to USA Today.
