A lack of cooperation between Republican-led Senate committees could force Jared Kushner back to Capitol Hill to testify a second time about Russia's election interference, CNN reports.
The Senate Judiciary Committee, helmed by Sen. Chuck Grassley, wants to see the transcript of Kushner's July closed-door testimony before the intelligence committee to determine if it's necessary for Kushner to testify a second time.
No dice, says Sen. Richard Burr, chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
"We don't hand out transcripts," Burr said. "No."
Grassley asked Kushner attorney Abbe Lowell for the transcript, but he doesn't have one to share.
"I do not understand why these committees would not provide the transcripts to you," Lowell wrote back to Grassley in a letter two weeks ago. "We have told both committees we have no objection to their providing them to you or in response to any bipartisan request from a committee with proper jurisdiction."
So Kushner might need to expend another six hours, as he did in July, testifying before the judiciary panel.
"Mr. Kushner has been very clear that he will cooperate as he has been voluntarily with all bipartisan requests from committees on anything that's relevant. He's done it and he'll do it again," Lowell told CNN.
