Florida Gov. Rick Scott, who is vying for a Senate seat from Florida, ripped into incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., accusing him of being a puppet of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
"Well, I think it is a clear choice," said Scott, a Republican. "Bill Nelson is going to do what Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi tell him to do. He is a puppet for them."
Scott’s remarks came Friday in an interview on television’s "Fox & Friends."
"My opponent is a career politician," he said. "He has never gotten anything done. He will give a nice talk. Write a nice letter -- nothing, nothing, nothing will happen."
And he added: "We’re going to fix the economy. We’re going to solve problems."
Scott and Nelson have been sniping at each other for months. They have attacked each other over a variety of issues, including guns, healthcare and the state’s recent environmental problems."
