A Republican organization has launched a digital billboard ad campaign asking what President Donald Trump is hiding, The Hill is reporting.
The group, Republicans for the Rule of Law, released the campaign on Wednesday. The billboards show a large image of Trump. Alongside him are images of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former national security adviser John Bolton, acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, and Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani. All four are shown with tape covering their mouths.
"What is Trump hiding?" is written across the top of the digital billboards. Across the bottom are the words: "America needs the whole truth."
The ads are reportedly being placed in the districts of Republican Reps. Greg Walden of Oregon, Mac Thornberry of Texas, Fred Upton of Michigan, Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, John Katko of New York, Martha Roby of Alabama, Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington, Michael McCaul of Texas, Mo Brooks of Alabama, Paul Mitchell of Michigan, and Francis Rooney of Florida.
Chris Truax, a spokesman for the group, blasted the White House for blocking administration officials from testifying during the impeachment inquiry.
"If the president really does think the facts will exonerate him, why won't he let those facts come out?" Truax said.
"The president doesn't own the government and he's not above the law. He's merely a caretaker acting on our behalf and when Congress demands an accounting, it's the president's duty to comply."
