Jeb Bush to Headline GOP Senatorial Fundraiser in December

Jeb Bush is hitting the campaign trail again, this time in support of Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy and several GOP committees.

Bush, who served as governor of Florida from 1999-2007, will headline a Dec. 1 luncheon at the headquarters of the National Republican Senatorial Committee in the nation's capital. Portions of the proceeds will help Cassidy's campaign for senator in Louisiana. His race against Democrat incumbent Mary Landrieu will be decided in a runoff election scheduled for Dec. 6.

The Washington Examiner reports that tickets for the event range from $5,000 to $25,000, depending on the type of ticket.

Cassidy has represented Louisiana's 6th district in the U.S. House since 2009, but he is trying to unseat Landrieu in the Senate chamber.

Other party officials who will be at the event are NRSC finance chairman and Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, incoming NRSC chairman and Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, and House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana.

The event will be Bush's first time on the campaign trail since the midterm elections, during which he campaigned for several Republican candidates.

Bush has not yet announced his candidacy for the 2016 presidential election, but there is talk he could throw his hat into the ring. He has plenty of star power, evidenced by a fundraiser he attended in September that brought in $750,000.

Former President George W. Bush, Jeb's brother, said earlier this month that Jeb's odds of running are "50-50."

"I think it's 50-50," Bush said. "He and I are very close. On the other hand, he's not here knocking on my door, you know, agonizing about the decision. He knows exactly, you know, the ramifications on family, for example. He's seen his dad and his brother go through the presidency. I'd give it a tossup."

Jeb Bush is expected to publicly announce his 2016 decision — whether it's yes or no — next year.
