A Texas Republican lawmaker says the "disrespectful" CNN reporter who disrupted President-elect Donald Trump's press conference Wednesday should be "fired."
Rep. Randy Weber took to Twitter on Thursday to make his assertion:
It's unclear why Weber wants Acosta fired and prohibited from press briefings, as the former would accomplish the latter.
Regardless, Weber joins Newt Gingrich in calling for some sort of punishment for Acosta; Gingrich thinks Trump should suspend him.
Acosta questioned Trump during the president-elect's press conference, repeatedly trying to get Trump to take his question "since you are attacking our news organization," he said to Trump.
Trump repeatedly rebuffed Acosta, saying, "your organization is terrible" and "you are fake news."
