President Donald Trump ripped Republican lawmakers for allowing Democrats to hold hearings on the U.S. Postal Service before and during the Republican National Convention.
In a Wednesday tweet, the president accused the GOP lawmakers of "playing right into" the Democrats' hands.
"Why are Republicans allowing the Democrats to have ridiculous Post Office hearings on Saturday & Monday, just before and during our Convention. Let them hold them NOW (during their Convention) or after our Convention is over. Always playing right into their hands!"
Trump tweeted the message to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
The House of Representatives will be called back from an August recess on Saturday to take up legislation about USPS.
Democrats have raised concerns about the Postal Service's ability to handle an influx of mail-in ballots ahead of the November election.
