Vermont Gov. Phil Scott, a Republican, has kept his lead over Democratic opponent Christine Hallquist intact in the latest poll from Gravis Marketing.
Scott, who also garnered strong approval ratings, won 49 percent in the survey, while Hallquist won 39 percent with a substantial 12 percent undecided. The governor won the backing of more than 90 percent of Republicans, 93.9 percent to be exact, and even managed 28 percent of Democrats.
Hallquist, who would become the first transgender governor in the country if she wins, failed to hit 60 percent among Democrats, and won over less than 4 percent of Republicans. Independents were more divided, but still favored Scott, 46 percent to 37 for Hallquist.
Gravis polled 885 likely voters in Vermont from Oct. 30-Nov. 1, with a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points.
