The results of a new survey show many undecided voters in Republican districts want to see an independent commission investigate potential ties between President Donald Trump and Russia.
According to The Hill, the Anzalone Liszt Grove Research poll found that 71 percent of likely voters in districts currently represented by Republicans but are being targeted by Democrats in 2018 support an independent investigation.
Other key findings from the online poll, which The Hill reports was commissioned by American Bridge, a super PAC founded by liberal activist David Brock:
- 65 percent of those polled are worried about any links between Trump and Russia.
- 55 percent do not trust Republicans in Congress to investigate Trump-Russia claims.
- 59 percent are more likely to support a candidate who supports an investigation.
Trump has repeatedly said he did not collude with the Russians during the presidential campaign. No hard evidence has been presented that would suggest otherwise.
U.S. intelligence agencies did conclude, however, that Russia tried to influence the presidential election through computer hacks and fake news.
