Fifty-five percent of Americans approve of President Donald Trump’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak, a new Harris poll reveals.
Forty-five percent disapprove.
Here are how the results of the poll, released Tuesday, break down:
- 62% are satisfied with the federal government’s response to the outbreak, compared to 38% who are not satisfied.
- 76% are satisfied with how their state government has handled the crisis, while 24% are dissatisfied.
- 76% are satisfied with how their local government has responded to the outbreak, compared to 24% who are not.
- 55% blame China for the outbreak, compared to 45% who do not.
- 52% side with Trump’s characterization of the coronavirus as the “China Virus,” while 42% do not.
- 91% of Americans favor extending unemployment insurance.
The poll, conducted March 21-22, surveyed 2,023 adults.
