Forty-seven percent of Ohio voters favor Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown, compared to 31 percent who back his Republican challenger, Rep. Jim Renacci, according to a new Politico/AARP poll.
Twenty-two percent said they were undecided in the race.
Here is how the Ohio survey breaks down:
- 85 percent of the Democrats say they would vote for Brown, compared to 2 percent who would cast their ballots for Renacci.
- 71 percent of Republicans say they would cast their ballots for Renacci, while 13 percent would vote for Brown.
- 39 percent back Republican Mike DeWine in the governor’s race, while 38 percent back Democrat Richard Cordray.
The poll, conducted September 2-11 by Morning Consult, surveyed 1,592 registered voters in Ohio. The margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points.
