Incumbent Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, seems headed for re-election in next week's November midterms, holding a 13-point lead on Republican Erik Brakey, according to the latest Emerson College poll.
As much as the GOP's Brakey (37 percent) has a 31-point lead on the Democratic candidate, Zak Ringelstein (6 percent), this Senate seat is likely to remain Independent, as Sen. King is polling at 50 percent.
Seven percent of potential voters remain undecided.
The RealClear Politics analysis shows two other polls giving Sen. King a 27-point edge on the field.
Emerson College polled 883 potential voters between Oct- 27-29 with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
