A new St. Pete Poll conducted for FloridaPolitics.com has Republican Rick Scott ahead of challenger Bill Nelson in the Senate race, and Democrat Andrew Gillum edging out the GOP's Ron DeSantis in the quest for the governorship.
The survey polled 2,733 likely Florida general election voters from November 1, 2018 to November 2, 2018. The margin of error was 1.9%.
In the Senate race, Floridians backed Scott over Nelson 49 to 48 percent, according to the poll. In the gubernatorial race, Gillum finished ahead of DeSantis 48 to 46 percent.
The most recent RealClear Politics polling average has Nelson up 1.4 points, and Gillum with a 2.6-point lead heading into the Nov. 6 election.
