Protesters donning similar outfits to the ones women wear on the dystopian Hulu show "Handmaid's Tale" demonstrated outside the Capitol building Tuesday in opposition of the Senate GOP's health care bill, The Hill reports.

The women were Planned Parenthood volunteers who traveled from New York to Washington, D.C. and the protest was staged by Planned Parenthood.

"It would be the worst bill for women in generations and decimate women's healthcare. It's a healthcare bill with no healthcare," said Fern Whyland, communications director at Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts.

The Handmaid's Tale is based on a novel by Margaret Atwood where handmaids live under a totalitarian regime in America and are forced to bear children for wealthier couples who cannot conceive. The handmaids in the show wear restrictive uniforms with red capes and their faces are obscured by white wings.

The Senate bill, titled the Better Care Reconciliation Act, would leave 22 million more Americans uninsured in 2026 than under former President Barack Obama's healthcare law according to analysis released by the Congressional Budget Office Monday.
