President Donald Trump has maintained a surprisingly high approval rating among U.S. military veterans, according to the Independent Journal Review.

Trump's approval rating among veterans stood at 60 percent before the election and has only slipped by six percentage points, according to a Pew Research Center poll conducted in April and posted in late May.

"The April survey found that 98 percent of veterans who identify as Republicans approve of Trump; among Democratic veterans, the share was just 10 percent. Among the public overall, 86 percent of Republicans approve of Trump, compared with only 9 percent of Democrats," the Pew Research Center explained.

Trump's overall job rating is currently at 41 percent, five points higher than it was on the day he won the election. In the Pew poll, conducted April 4-18, it was just 39 percent, but both younger and older veterans gave higher approval ratings for Trump than did younger adults overall.

Additionally, 98 percent of Republican military veterans approve of the job Trump is doing.
