A super PAC, aimed at electing Republican women, is launching an ad attacking Rep. Abby Finkenauer, D-Iowa.
Roll Call noted that the Winning for Women Action Fund’s new 30-second spot is part of a “six figure” ad buy on broadcast networks in the Cedar Rapids media market. And it pointed out the spending could boost Finkenauer’s opponent, Republican state Rep. Ashley Hinson.
The ad opens with a clip of Finkenauer saying: “I ran for Congress to get things done.”
And a narrator then adds: “But who is Abbey Finkenauer getting things done for? Her first vote in Congress was for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker – even joined Pelosi’s inner-circle. Then Finkenauer let members of Congress give away their votes to Pelosi by proxy.”
The ad also claims she voted 93% of the time with Pelosi.
Finkenauer flipped a Republican district two years ago, Roll Call said. President Donald Trump won the 1st District in Iowa by nearly 4 points in 2016, while Finkenauer won by 6 points in 2018.
Meanwhile, the super PAC has also launched an ad in support of Stephanie Bice, the GOP candidate in Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District.
