In a hypothetical matchup for the 2020 race for the White House, Oprah Winfrey would beat President Donald Trump, according to a new poll conducted by Zogby Analytics.
The survey of 881 likely voters in the United States, conducted from May 10-12, found Oprah, the media mogul, actress and TV personality, receiving 53 percent of the vote compared to 47 percent for Trump.
"Even though Oprah Winfrey has denied she is running for president, the mogul and former queen of daytime television defeats President Trump,” Zogby said in a statement.
"Oprah continues to win a majority or plurality among almost every sub-group, including Democratic stalwarts, such as younger voters aged 18-24 years old (65 percent), African Americans (90 percent), Hispanics (63 percent), Asians (80 percent) and women (50 percent)."
The poll also found that the gap between Trump and leading Democrats — including former Vice President Joe Biden and Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Bernie Sanders of Vermont — has narrowed.
In January, Biden beat the president in polls 53 percent to 38 percent, but that spread is now 48 percent to 38 percent with the rest undecided.
The Zogby Analytics poll has a margin of error of +/- 3.2 points.
