Two National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) fundraising staffers who used their old passwords to collect donor data from the fundraising arm of House Republicans have resigned, Politico reports.
Laura Kleffner and Krisa Madaio resigned late last week, Politico reported.
Both women used to work for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and allegedly used their login information to collect contact and personal information on more than 200,000 donors over several months, Politico reported.
The GOP on GOP offense caused a rift between the two groups, given the NRCC's $77M in funds raised off that list so far in 2017, Politico reported.
"Everyone steals lists, but the fact that they did this behind the back of the NRCC shows they knew they were doing something wrong," a Republican fundraiser told Politico. "The people at the NRCC, who found out about this, are really pissed. They’re supposed to be on the same team."
