Nearly three-quarters of Democrats want House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi out as the leader of the party in the House chamber, according to the results of a new poll.

Some key figures in the survey results released by Hill.TV and HarrisX:

  • 73 percent of Democrats want someone else to lead the party in the House, with 27 percent saying they would like Pelosi to stay in her position.
  • 79 percent of Independents want Pelosi replaced as the top-ranked Democrat in the House, while 91 percent of Republicans said the same.

Pelosi was House minority whip from 2002-2003 and House minority leader from 2003-2007. She then served as House speaker from 2007-2011 before reverting back to minority leader when Republicans took back control of the House chamber.

More than two dozen Democratic candidates have vowed not to support Pelosi as minority leader if they are elected.

A June Gallup poll pegged Pelosi's favorability rating among Democrats at 55 percent, her lowest mark in nine years.
