Jeb Bush hopes Melania Trump confiscates her husband's phone once he takes office so he will stop all that late-night tweeting.
Bush, who gave a lecture at Texas A&M at the William Waldon Cameron Forum on Tuesday night, said he hopes "Melania steals [Trump's] phone," while also noting the president-elect's propensity for tweeting at all hours of the night.
The dig was slight as Bush, the former Florida governor who ran against Trump in the GOP primary, said later he hoped for Trump's success.
Trump's tweeting has been the source of many stories during his transition, specifically because he has not spoken to many reporters since he won the election Nov. 8. The president-elect has not held a press conference since the summer, and said he prefers Twitter over interviews with mass media because there is no filter on the social media platform.
"I think I picked up yesterday 100,000 people," Trump said on CBS's "60 Minutes" in November, per NPR. "I'm not saying I love it, but it does get the word out."
