Megyn Kelly called the controversy surrounding Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court “a farce,” according to The Hill.
And she said despite the latest FBI investigation into Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation of sexual assault, the outcome will not change anyone’s opinion.
Her comments came during an interview at the Most Powerful Women Summit in Laguna Nigel, California.
“Brett Kavanaugh is entitled to due process, but he’s not necessarily going to get it,” said Kelly, host of NBC’s “Megyn Kelly Today.” (Ford is) not going to be believed by the Republicans, no matter how credible she may seem.
“So, the whole thing is a farce. It was set up to be a farce. There was no impartial arbiter in that Senate hearing room.”
In a tweet on Tuesday she said Kavanaugh should be disqualified if investigators prove he lied under oath.
“I will defend due process to my dying day,” she wrote. “But as I said on the air yesterday, if they can prove Kavanaugh lied under oath - a felony - it’s disqualifying. Period.”
