The Senate has an obligation to call House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff to testify about what kind of collaboration he had with the whistleblower whose report spurred the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Friday.
"I think it's crazy that we haven't heard from this whistleblower," McDaniel said on Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "We should know what type of bias they had, if they had any partisan interactions. They are talking about removing a President of the United States and turning around the will of the people."
The impeachment proceedings, she added, have been done "in a totally partisan way."
"Remember, it was Nancy Pelosi who said if we go forward with this, it needs to be compelling, overwhelming, it's got to be bipartisan," said McDaniel. "None of those things have happened, and it also hasn't been transparent. So this is not something that's good for our country."
She added that she hopes the Senate, once it gets the impeachment case, calls forward witnesses and will give Trump the opportunity to exercise his due process rights, which he did not have during the House proceedings.
McDaniel Friday also predicted that the impeachment proceedings will give Republicans an edge to retake the House.
"It's an abuse of power, and it's losing ground in these battleground states," said McDaniel. "The voters are looking at the Democrats and this is not popular. They are unhappy with what they have done, and I think it will have ramifications for them in 2020."
