GOP House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., on Sunday said billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s $100 million effort to help Joe Biden win Florida in the November election smacks of election bribery.
In an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” McCarthy said “this isn’t the first time Bloomberg has done these activities.”
“Remember what he did in the last congressional race in spending more than $110 million,” McCarthy said.
“Now he's spending $100 million just in Florida, but also, trying to buy people's votes. I want to make sure every vote counts. We as a nation have a right to make sure we have a fair and accurate election, but it's really concerning to me, these activities.”
McCarthy also insisted it’s important that the Supreme Court have a ninth justice by Election Day.
“You have so many states who are now using mail-in ballots who are not prepared for it,” he said. “We watched the horrific job that New York had done, where they're disqualified people and we're now watching we're seeing ballots that are voted for President [Donald] Trump thrown aside by a contractor.
“How many other times will that happen? They're not prepared for it, and that could make a real problem so we need a court that is filled all nine seats for not just an election but also anything going forward that they is a separate branch of government that they can make a decision.”
