Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg should testify before Congress over Facebook transparency, said Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn.
"Zuckerberg should come in and talk with Congress because they (Facebook) have made billions of dollars selling your information," Blackburn said Tuesday on Fox News' "America's Newsroom."
Blackburn said that what Facebook is doing to personal data is "the equivalent of a peeping Tom."
During the interview, Blackburn referred to a call from Zuckerberg in 2017 for guaranteeing every person a minimum "universal basic income," CNN reported at the time.
She questioned why Zuckerberg was not paying people "for the data he is data mining on you every single day."
The Federal Trade Commission confirmed Monday that it was opening an investigation into Facebook's privacy practices after a situation with consulting firm Cambridge Analytica, which may have misused data from nearly 50 million users, Fox News Insider noted.
CNN announced on Tuesday that Zuckerberg had decided he would testify before Congress.
