Rep. Marsha Blackburn Prefers Bill With 'No Amnesty At All'

President Donald Trump has been very generous over the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, Rep. Marsha Blackburn said Monday, but she'd rather begin the immigration reform discussions with no amnesty at all.

"I believe the president has been more than generous," the Tennessee Republican told Fox News' "America's Newsroom" co-host Bill Hemmer. "I'm one of those that says let's begin with no amnesty at all, and then let's begin to work through this process ... secure the border, end chain migration, end the Visa lottery system. Make certain we do those things so we do not circle back again and continue having this [discussion]."

There is a difference between the nation's "dreamers" and DACA enrollees, Blackburn said, and she thinks there should be some way to work matters out with Dreamers.

"For some of these individuals that use the DACA program to come to our country or they're in gangs or drug trafficking or sex trafficking, those are not individuals that need any sort of accommodation," she said.

Blackburn also discussed her recent budget vote, saying she voted yes because the military must be rescued from the Obama-era "oppression that has just cut, cut, cut."

"Fifty percent of the planes in the Navy don't fly," said Blackburn. "At Fort Campbell in Tennessee my constituents, they cannibalize one aircraft to get parts for another one [plane] to to fly. When you lose 80 of your troops in training accidents, you have to fix this."
