Democrat Betsy Dirksen Londrigan, who is running against Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Ill., has launched a new campaign ad invoking the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
The 30-second ad starts by showing a photograph of Ginsburg. A narrator says: “A nation mourns, and your healthcare is at risk. A Supreme Court controlled by Donald Trump could overturn the Affordable Care Act by the end of this year.
“Rodney Davis won’t help us. He votes with Trump and the drug and insurance industries that gave him over $770,000. Davis voted 11 times to gut protections for pre-existing conditions.
“There’s a better choice: Betsy Londrigan.”
Roll Call reported the ad is part of a six-figure buy.
The race for the 13th District in central Illinois is a rematch from 2018, when Davis defeated Londrigan by 1 point, Roll Call noted.
