Liberal activists are attempting to move debate questions hostile to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to the top of a website list, according to The Daily Caller.
The second debate between Hillary Clinton and Trump is a town hall format with questions coming from the audience. The site Presidential Open Questions is also fielding questions from users online. A statement on the site said, "ABC and CNN moderators agreed to consider the top 30 questions voted up on this site!"
The site encouraged its users to watch the site to find out if the moderators chose their questions.
On the site, viewers can submit their own questions or "vote up" questions already submitted.
One of the top vote-getting questions is purportedly from a 6-year-old whose parents are illegal aliens. The user identified as Sophie Cruz from California wrote, "If you deport my parents, what happens to me? I am 6 years old and an American citizen. I have a 3 year old sister who is also American. My heart is very sad, because I'm scared that ICE is going to deport my undocumented mommy and daddy."
The group Define American is promoting the 6-year-old's debate question on Twitter:
The Daily Caller reported that other top vote-getting questions appear to have a liberal slant, including:
- "Would you support requiring criminal background checks for all gun sales?"
- "Do you support expanding, and not cutting, Social Security's modest benefits?"
- "Would you act to repeal Citizens United?"
ABC News reported that Trump prepared for the second debate with a test run at a town hall in New Hampshire. Trump said it was not practice: "We are just here, because we just wanted to be here."
