Americans have needed coronavirus relief money for a long time, but a lot of what's in the bill Congress passed is "outrageous," Trump campaign adviser Lara Trump said Tuesday.
"I think it's very frustrating to people all around this country," Trump, who is married to President Donald Trump's son Eric, said on Fox News' "Fox & Friends." "I think they're really glad to get the $600, but they probably could have gotten a lot more if we weren't giving so much money away."
The $900 billion package includes items such as "$10 million to gender studies in Pakistan, $700 million to the Sudan," said Trump. "How does that help Americans? How does that help us get out of this?"
Meanwhile, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was offered a $1.8 trillion relief bill through the White House, but "she didn't want to have anything to do with it," said Trump.
"She does not care about the American people," Trump said of Pelosi. "She does not care about making sure that people can withstand this horrific crisis, this situation that a lot of governors and mayors have put us in at this point, not allowing people to go back to work. It's outrageous to see, but this is the epitome of the swamp of Washington, D.C."
Trump added that "one of the only things" that she can agree with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on is that "we've got to get rid of Nancy Pelosi and [Senate Minority Leader] Chuck Schumer."
Meanwhile, the campaign is still fighting for the election, said Trump, as it believes the president won.
"We still have legal challenges out in several states," she said. "We want the Constitution upheld, and what it says very clearly in the Constitution is that it is up to the state legislatures to determine the time, place, and manner in which elections are conducted. And in several states — Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Michigan — that did not happen."
