Kellyanne Conway slammed Hillary Clinton for comments that the former Democratic presidential candidate made at a New York conference in which she placed blame for her election loss.
"Lack of self-awareness is stunning," Conway tweeted.
At the Women for Women International Conference Tuesday, Clinton said she took "absolute personal responsibility," and said she also blamed Jim Comey, the Federal Bureau of Investigation director, as well as Russian interference and misogyny.
"I was the person who was on the ballot. I am very aware of the challenges, the problems, the shortfalls that we had…there was a lot of funny business going on," Clinton said.
Conway later followed up with a tweet listing some reasons she believes Clinton lost:
Criticism for Clinton's comments came from other corners, including Robert Shrum, a Democratic strategist who advised Al Gore and John Kerry after their losses.
"Part of credibility here begins with saying, 'These were things that happened to me that really hurt and could've cost me the election, but there were decisions I wish I made differently as well,'" Shrum said in The Washington Post.
President Donald Trump himself responded to the comments of his former opponent. "Perhaps Trump just ran a great campaign?" he said in a tweet.
