A protest at the Kansas Statehouse in Topeka in support of President Donald Trump and his claims of voter fraud and election irregularities moved inside the capitol but remained peaceful as demonstrators milled about to further their demonstration, multiple reports said.

The action drew alarm from some media outlets, such as Topeka’s NBC affiliate KSNT, as the incident was occurring at the same time as some protesters in Washington, also demonstrating in support of Trump, pushed passed security and police and moved into the U.S. Capitol.

The Associated Press reported that 200 demonstrators gathered outside the Topeka capitol for a rally in support of Trump, chanting “stop the steal,” “four more years,” and “no more masks.”

After the rally, the Trump supporters walked into the capitol, which is open to the public, individually or in small groups, some sitting on benches.

The lights of the outer, ceremonial office of Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly, a Democrat, on the first floor of the capitol rotunda were off and the door was locked.

The demonstration was one of several at statehouses across the country.

In Georgia, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and his staff evacuated their offices at the capitol in Atlanta after about 100 protesters, some of them armed with rifles according to the AP, gathered outside the statehouse there.

Several hundred protesters also gathered at capitol buildings in Salem, Oregon, and Denver, CNN reported.
