The United States deserves a president who's looked up to around the world, "not laughed at," former Secretary of State John Kerry said Tuesday night in endorsing Joe Biden for president.
Kerry, who served as President Barack Obama's last secretary of state, attacked President Donald Trump in his message to the Democratic Convention, saying, "Like everything else he inherited he bankrupted it. When this president goes overseas it's a blooper real."
Trump, he said, "writes love letters to dictators."
Biden, will lead by example, Kerry said.
"Our troops can't get out of harm's way by hiding in the White House bunker," a reference to Trump reportedly being taken to the bunker during protests outside the White House grounds. "They need a president who will stand up for them. And President Biden will."
