The Democratic Party should withdraw campaign funding from any candidate who says that President Donald Trump should be impeached, MSNBC's "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough said in a tweet on Sunday.
Scarborough, who is a former Republican congressman, has been an outspoken critic of Trump throughout his presidency, according to The Hill.
Scarborough officially left the Republican Party last year, saying that Trump's behavior is destroying the GOP for many years in the future.
The House has already rejected several impeachment attempts from Democrats since Trump was inaugurated. The latest attempt last month was rejected by a vote of 355-66.
Some pundits have said that chances for a vote on impeachment would greatly increase if the Democrats take back control of the House in midterm elections in November.
