There is no evidence of any collusion involving President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign and Russia, and special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation must come to an end, Jay Sekulow, a member of the president's legal team, insisted Tuesday.

"Collusion is not a crime," Sekulow told Fox News' "Fox and Friends," echoing the president's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani's comments from Monday.

"[There is] no evidence of any collusion here involving our client and the Russians," Sekulow continued. "Let's make that factual statement for the record here.

"We have seen nothing in the millions, literally, 1.4 million documents that have been sent over by the White House, and many more sent over by the campaign that indicates any Russian involvement with the Trump campaign, especially as the president of the United States goes or other people."

Giuliani "got a lot of attention" when with his comments about collusion on Monday, said Sekulow, but his statements were "quite unremarkable."

Tha former New York City mayor himself called in to a later Fox News program, "Outnumbered," to clarify his statements on the matter.

Collusion, continued Sekulow, is "not a violation of any rule statute or regulation that we have seen after reviewing this case for a year," and he believes special counsel Robert Mueller will come to the same conclusion.

"He will write his report; we will deal with ours," said Sekulow. "At the end of the day, this process needs to come to an end quickly. It's been a year and we're ready to move on. We will not predict the next move because this is Washington D.C. You never say never to anything.'

Sekulow also talked about former Trump campaign manager's Paul Manafort trial, which begins with jury selection in Virginia on Tuesday.

In a July 6 court filing, it was stated that the government did not plan to present any evidence of

Russian collusion with the campaign.

Sekulow, meanwhile, questioned Mueller's investigation itself.

"It started off as a rather irregular investigation, to say the least, with the salacious and unverified dossier," he said, referring to a dossier compiled by British agent Christopher Steele purporting to detail Trump's activities in Russia.

"But then you had the lead investigator situation with [FBI agent] Peter Strzok," said Sekulow. "You had Bruce Ohr, the number four at the Department of Justice. His wife was working at Fusion GPS, who put together the dossier with Chris Steele. And on and on it goes."
