Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen said Friday that White House chief strategist Steve Bannon should be ousted from the Trump administration because "his views are not in line with our country."
"We are an inclusive country that welcomes different points of views," the Florida Republican told "The Fernand Amandi Show" on 610-WIOD in Miami, Politico reports.
"His ties to certain groups are very worrisome."
Ros-Lehtinen, 64, was first elected to Congress in 1988 and is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Her comments came amid news reports that Bannon and Chief of Staff Reince Preibus could be replaced as President Donald Trump weighs changes in his White House staff.
"I think it would be welcome news for the nation," she said. "I think his days are numbered in that administration.
"I think profound changes will be coming," Ros-Lehtinen added, predicting "a shake-up in the White House in the coming months."
