Newsmax personality Howie Carr has come out swinging at Ohio Gov. John Kasich who he calls "pathetic" and a "RINO" — Republican in Name Only.
"Is there any more pathetic governor than John Kasich?" Carr writes in his Boston Herald column which was published Wednesday.
"He's so desperate for attention that he's reduced to stopping by the offices of the Manchester Union Leader, which used to be a powerful player in New Hampshire politics … in 1972. Not that it doesn't have a lot of clout even today — just ask President Chris Christie, right?
"Kasich is barnstorming the Granite State in his spare time, of which he seems to have plenty, as a 'thoughtful, intelligent, kinetic person.' Those are the words of the Concord Monitor, which is even more worthless in a Republican primary than the Union Leader."
Carr, host of Newsmax TV's "The Howie Carr Show," refers to a New York Times story in which Kasich said, "I think I'm increasingly viewed now, as not just a Republican but as something different, kind of a hybrid."
"A hybrid?" Carr asks. "More like a mutt."
