The Congressional Leadership Fund, the super PAC that supports congressional Republicans, has hit $60 million in reserved advertising with the goal of keeping the majority in the House, The Washington Post reported.
As of June 11, the group will have reserved $60 million in advertising — $50 million on TV and $10 million in digital ads across 33 House districts, the newspaper noted.
Corry Bliss, the president of the fund, said the Tuesday primaries showed "encouraging" levels of Republican turnout.
The super PAC sees a positive sign in New York, for example, where the left wing has multiple candidates including entrants from the Working Families Party, the Green Party, and a star of TV's "Law and Order," who is aiming to get on the ballot as an Independent.
"That's going to make it easier for John Faso to hold that seat," Bliss said, according to the Post.
Advertising rates increase closer to elections, so super PACs and other outside groups tend to lock up advertising earlier, The Hill reported.
Democrats competed with the Congressional Leadership Fund in the Tuesday primaries, such as in California, where the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee poured millions in races to ensure Democrats were represented in the state's runoff of the top-two vote getters.
"After much self-promotion and premature congratulations, the Congressional Leadership Fund failed to box Democrats out of any district in California, and their investments are becoming increasingly cautious, defensive, and ineffective," DCCC communications director Meredith Kelly said, per the Post.
Diane Neal, the "Law and Order" actress said she aims to take on Faso in New York because the "goal is bigger than parties."
